Making
a Huge Impact in Gospel Music and in People's Lives.

Calvin McGuyrt, Manager and Baritone
Calvin is a veteran of Gospel music, having been raised in a family
that sang Gospel. His father was associated with the Stamps
Quartet School of Music, teaching shape note singing schools, as
well as being the leader of the Stamps Melody Quartet. Calvin took
over the reigns of the group when his dad retired. The name was changed
to the Georgians Quartet at the suggestion of the late Hovie Lister
in 1955. The group has traveled and ministered throughout most of
the United States. After several years, Calvin
left the road to become Minister of Music in a church, but in 2002
felt the leading of the Holy Spirit to re-activate the Georgians,
and the results have been amazing. Calvin is also an author, having
written several of the groups popular songs. The Georgians count
it an honor to be music missionaries and place heavy focus on ministry,
while presenting their music with excellence.
"We have been blessed to see more people saved and prayers answered
this past year than ever before," says Calvin. Calvin and his wife,
Marilyn, live in their hometown of Valdosta, Georgia and have three
children.
Elbert Southall, Bass
The bass singer for the Georgians is considered among the best in Gospel
music. Elbert is a dynamic singer with many years of experience.
His low bass notes on the upbeat songs, along with his smooth solo
delivery on the standards are favorites in the Georgians' concerts.
His resume includes singing with Jerry Trammell and the Arkansas
Boys and the Texans Quartet. Elbert was born in the small, but historic
community of Cooterneck, Arkansas, close to the birthplace of the
legendary Coach Bear Bryant, who he played football for at Alabama.
After coaching for thirteen years, he bought a State Farm Insurance
Agency and moved to Gainesville, Florida, where he and his wife Pat
now live. They have two sons, Mike and Pete.
Evan Minix, Lead
The Georgians are privileged to have one of the finest young lead singers
in gospel music. Evan is gifted with a beautiful lead voice and a
wide range that very few people possess. Although only 36, he has
13 years of professional experience, having sung with the Canaanland
Boys and Rushing Wind from Jacksonville, Florida. His renditions
of the Gospel classics as well as the faster tempo spirituals are
an uplifting experience you won't forget. Evan is from Jacksonville,
Florida and lives near his parents and three
brothers.
Chad Hall, Tenor
The tenor for the Georgians is a young man that will sing his heart
out for you. Chad is 25 and has only been singing professionally
for about three years, but you would never know it as you listen
to him. He loves the Lord and is grateful for the opportunity to
sing for Him. Chad has a special anointing that can be felt throughout
the audience as he sings.
His ministry is touching the lives of many people, especially young
people.
He and his wife, Tamara, live in his home town of Baxley, Georgia,
where his parents and younger brother, Brad, also reside. |
